𝑰’𝒎 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚, the sole owner and creator of Datura Stitchery. It began with a passion for tarot and a desire to sew exquisite items with intention. I feel that where you keep and read your deck is just as important as the deck itself. These pouches are made with magick and intention to hold your beloved decks.
Along with providing a safe place for your deck, I have tarot and oracle decks for you to choose from. The tarot or oracle deck that you work with is your key. You should connect to the imagery and feel drawn into each card. The cards themselves are not the magickal force. They are the path that your intuition, spirit guide(s), higher self, Universe, Goddess(es) and/or God(s) guide you along. The magick resides within you.
A little about me -
For our third wedding anniversary my husband gifted me a hand crafted leather tarot pouch.
I have to admit, at first I wasn’t quite sure why I needed a pouch when all my decks came with boxes. However, once I slipped my favorite deck into it I noticed I was using it more.
It was easier pull the cards out, to toss into my bag to travel and I love the ritual of slowly unwrapping the ribbon.
The desire to sew didn’t bloom until I was able to be a stay at home mom. While my son was at school I finally had the time to learn the art of sewing. As a third generation sewer, I feel connected to those who came before me when I sit down at my sewing machine or pick up a needle and thread. I imagine their heads peeking over my shoulder while whispering words of advice.
Being able to unite these two passions into creating items that can be used by others for their own journey is an absolute joy!
